How does Reach & Wash® technology work?

Everyone has the right to work safely, and that includes window cleaners. For decades, work at height was simply accepted as an occupational hazard of the window cleaning industry. Reach & Wash® systems allow windows to be cleaned from the safety of the ground using long reaching, telescopic poles. A soft bristled brush is used to scrub the dirt off the glass, while jets of pure water rinse the window. The pure water, as it has no impurities, dries to a spot-free finish leaving no marks behind. Using The Reach & Wash® system, modern window cleaning is no longer the dangerous job it once was.

Extending your Capabilities

Safety is the most important benefit of the Reach & Wash® system, but it is not the only one. Window cleaners find that they are typically able to work at least twice as fast using poles, but that’s not all… Reach & Wash® can clean to a height of 80ft, well beyond the reach of ladders, and is much safer, more efficient and cost-effective than other methods of working at height. An ion-exchange resin or ion-exchange polymer is an insoluble matrix (or support structure) normally in the form of small (0.5-1 mm diameter) beads, usually white or yellowish, fabricated from an organic polymer substrate. The beads are typically porous, providing a high surface area. The trapping of ions occurs with concomitant releasing of other ions; thus the process is called ion-exchange. There are multiple types of ion-exchange resin. Most commercial resins are made of polystyrene sulfonate.Ion-exchange resins are widely used in different separation, purification, and decontamination processes.

The most common examples are water softening and water purification. In many cases ion-exchange resins were introduced in such processes as a more flexible alternative to the use of natural or artificial zeolites. Also, ion exchange resins are highly effective in the biodiesel filtration process. During the era of the squeegee any window cleaner that left runs or streaks was also branded ‘a bad window cleaner’ and no fault was attributed to the tools of the trade
